THE EXTERNAL LANDSCAPE
The exterior of the Chapel and the circular Memorial Garden beside it complement the style of the surrounding buildings, being mostly redbrick and stonework.
It is hoped that the garden gives mourners and visitors a sense of protection and comfort while temporarily isolating them from the world outside.
The Memorial Garden with its rocks and moving water brings an external focus to the grounds incorporating a relief map of the Falklands carved on slate within the water feature; the plants and grasses around the garden landscape are all indigenous to the Falkland Islands.
