THANK YOU...

The Trustees are very grateful to the many hundreds of generous people and organisations both within and outside the Services who have contributed to making the Memorial Chapel possible. They also thank the Governors of Pangbourne College who gave the land on which to build the Chapel and have pledged to care for it day to day. It is a building to be enjoyed by present and future generations which will ensure that the events in the South Atlantic in 1982 will never be forgotten.

"Just To See His Name"
The story of the Memorial Chapel from idea to fruition
written by Anthony Hudson

Anthony Hudson, now retired from his post as Headmaster, has written a comprehensive account of the Chapel story from its beginnings almost 10 years ago to its opening in March 2000 by Her Majesty The Queen. It is a fascinating story about the Trustees' struggle to bring the Chapel into being, the long hard road to raising all the money and the pitfalls encountered along the way. The Trustees would like each family directly bereaved by the Falklands War to have a free copy of this hardback book; the remainder are available for sale @ £8.50 (plus £1.50 p&p) to raise funds for the upkeep of the building. To order your copy please contact Angela Perry.

Chapel Postcards and Notelets

By popular demand, the Trustees have produced two new postcards to complement the notelets. We are selling these in packs of 10 at £3.50 per pack for the postcards and £5 per pack for the notelets. They are available in the Chapel Foyer or by post from:

Angela Perry
Wroxton Mill
Shutford Road

Please send a cheque payable to FIMCT plus £1 p&p.

The appeal for funds for the Memorial Chapel remains open until the Trust has sufficient funds to ensure its heritage is protected and any future reparation or restoration work is secure. The Trustees will be most grateful to anyone who may wish to help in one of the following ways:

  • SPONSOR A SEAT: for £1000 given by Gift Aid you could have your name, or that of your company or organisation, inscribed on one of the remaining 250 unsponsored seats

  • BECOME A FRIEND OF THE CHAPEL: for £25 a year given under the new Gift Aid scheme, the Trust can claim back the tax you have paid - which will make your gift even more valuable

  • ANY GIFT: given under the new Gift Aid Scheme will be put towards the general Chapel fund

  • Postcards are for sale in the Chapel foyer. Copies of 'Just to see his name' - the story of the chapel are also available. £8.50 in the Chapel, £10 by post.

All donations should be made payable to the Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel Trust and forwarded to Mrs Angela Perry, at the address given above.
